Mo­ni­to­ring of a mul­ti­fa­mi­ly buil­ding PH cer­ti­fied in Pu­ti­gna­no, southern Ita­ly PH. Pa­ra­me­ters are cur­rent­ly mea­su­red with dif­fe­rent de­vi­ces and com­pa­red al­so to the da­ta­log of the Com­pact unit. Ener­gy con­sump­ti­on is re­cor­ded col­lec­ting the month­ly bills and mea­su­re­ments on the coun­ter.

De­fi­ning pro­ject-spe­ci­fic PHPP in­puts for in­sti­tu­tio­nal buil­dings with com­mer­ci­al kit­chens

Through a ca­se stu­dy, this pa­per sha­res the de­sign pro­cess for a new ty­po­lo­gy: the in­sti­tu­tio­nal kit­chen. It shows the need for pro­ject-spe­ci­fic in­put da­ta and me­trics to be de­fi­ned ear­ly, the ap­proach ta­ken to cal­cu­la­te them, and the de­sign con­si­de­ra­ti­ons nee­ded to de­sign this ty­po­lo­gy ef­fi­cient­ly.

Im­pro­ving cost-ef­fec­ti­ven­ess on the sa­me mul­ti­fa­mi­ly ty­po­lo­gy and lo­ca­ti­on over fi­ve years

The pa­per aims to de­s­cri­be cost-ef­fec­ti­ven­ess so­lu­ti­ons ad­op­ted in three equal re­si­den­ti­al mul­ti­fa­mi­ly of mo­re than 4.000 sqm li­ving space built in the sa­me ur­ban sec­tor in Za­ra­go­za (Spain). The buil­dings we­re de­ve­lo­ped over fi­ve years in three dif­fe­rent con­struc­ti­on pha­ses that co­ver from the ye­ar 2014 to 2019.

Trai­ning in re­mo­te com­mu­ni­ties: Self-built Pas­si­ve Hou­se as an al­ter­na­te to pre­fab

A stu­dy in­to chal­len­ges and op­por­tu­ni­ties of buil­ding to the Pas­si­ve­hou­se stan­dard in Ca­na­da’s First Na­ti­ons com­mu­ni­ties, il­lus­tra­ted by the Bel­la Bel­la Hou­sing pro­ject in the Heilt­suk Ter­ri­to­ry.

DHW + PV: all-elec­tric hot wa­ter hea­ting for Pas­si­ve Hou­ses, with sur­plus so­lar PV top-up

The ar­tic­le pres­ents mo­ni­to­red da­ta from a so­lar PV in­stal­la­ti­on for a sin­gle-fa­mi­ly cer­ti­fied Pas­siv­haus in Gi­ro­na, Spain, whe­re sur­plus PV pro­duc­ti­on is di­ver­ted to an elec­tric im­mer­si­on hea­ter in the DHW tank (the pri­ma­ry ge­ne­ra­tor for hot wa­ter is an air-sour­ce he­at pump).

This pro­ject is an Ener­phit Plus Cer­ti­fied buil­ding. An un­fi­nis­hed sin­gle-fa­mi­ly hou­se was com­ple­ted ac­cor­ding to PH stan­dard, on the sa­me bud­get of con­ven­tio­nal, high ener­gy con­su­ming buil­dings.
