Air tightness and moisture control in various climates

Thursday, 8 March 2018, 9:00am - 1:00pm

Venue: MOC Veranstaltungscenter, Lilienthalallee 40, 80939 Munich
Room D106 (1st floor)

This workshop will summarise the findings from various studies on Passive Houses in different climates of the world, carried out at the PHI. The importance of air tight construction and the influences on energetic and moisture issues under the major climatic boundary conditions will be pointet out.

The wider picture of hygric behaviour of typical build-ups will also be presented, beginning with the challenges posed by hygrothermal simulations themselves and the adequate interpretation of the results they yield. Practical advice will be given on what can and what cannot work in the resprective climates, including some open questions.
